Our Impact
There has been a significant increase in the number of unique and unduplicated women that we serve
who came to our doors seeking safety, shelter, food, critical life saving services and more. In 2017 we served 559 women, in 2018 we served 662 women, and in 2019 we served 847 women. That’s a 52% increase in twenty-four months. Each month, The Women's Center provides more than 2,200 meals, 2,280 articles of clothing, 3,800 hygiene items, 355 hours of case management and counseling services and twelve hours of medical care.
52,200+
Hours of shelter
The Women’s Center is unique in that we are the only crisis intervention and assessment day Center for homeless women in The Triangle. As a low barrier entry facility, we meet women where they are at in real time. All women who come to us receive an intake within one hour upon arrival. WC serves 40-50 women every day year round. Homeless women, staying in local Emergency Overnight Shelters (EOS) must vacate each morning and may not return until late afternoon. The Women's Center provides safe day shelter and critical lifesaving services, such as medical & behavioral healthcare, food, clothing, hygiene, housing and employment support & assistance, transportation, laundry assistance, help with acquiring vital documents, accessing local resources, as well as provide holistic therapeutic enrichment classes, and horticulture therapy at Women’s Center Community Garden Project.
